In the autumn, fallen leaves can be collected and made into a leaf compost.
The same procedure ensures that the nutritional elements that are still in the leaves can efficiently be made into fertilizer for the soil.
A mixture of Edasil clay minerals, Ostrea seashell lime and EM-1 can be used to promote fermentation within leaf heaps.
The mixed material must have a high moisture level (at least thirty percent) in order to reach a satisfactory fermentation process.
When all the materials have been mixed together, cover them with a plastic cover or seal in black plastic bags with the air expelled to maintain the humidity.
Leave this for at least six weeks (the longer, the better) in order to complete the fermentation process.
Requirements: For 100 Kgms of leaf waste.
